Going through perimenopause, I had literally no clue what was happening. I was suffering through sleepless nights, vertigo, brain fog. It was so demeaning to search for a word that simply wouldn’t come. I was scared that my mind was never going to be my ally ever again.

But then, as a Menopause Coach I’ve learned, and coached, small adjustments can lead to big changes. It takes time, thoughtful exploration, and a few life hacks along the way. But most importantly, it takes support and guidance. That’s where I come in.

Hi, I’m Beth

Veteran. Actor. Proud Supporter of Women.

Becoming a Menopause Coach is one of the many iterations of my life’s career journey. And one of which I am deeply proud!

So many women tell me that they wish someone like me had been around when they were struggling with perimenopause and menopause. I feel that! It would have eased so much anxiety in me too. That is why I undertook the 18-week learning program through Women of a Certain Stage based in the UK.

As a Canadian military veteran raised in an environment of “suck it up” turned film and television actor steeped in “be perfect, always” … perimenopause was a rough ride. So many changes to my body, my brain, my skin, and my mental health and I felt like a failure for not overcoming them effortlessly.

What I learned through my certification training helped me. I look forward to sharing that knowledge and those tools with you!

WORK WITH ME

This Is Who I Am

Supportive

My entire purpose through The Menopause Plan is to support you. I will always guide you gently through the program and if there is a section that you feel isn’t right for you, we will explore options together.

Value Your Perspective

Every woman’s perimenopause journey is different. What is troublesome for some doesn’t bother others. Whatever your journey is, you will never be asked to fit into anyone else’s paradigm. The program works because each woman takes each step in her own unique way.

Empathetic

No matter where you are, I will meet you there. If you are having a terrible day and all you want to do is cry, that’s okay. If you’re feeling like a warrior, I will cheer you on. It’s about supporting you and valuing your perspective.

The Road May Be Long, But There are Wonderful Stops Along the Way

From the time I was a child, being a movie star was all I dreamed of. But, life had other plans which is how joining the Canadian military at 18 happened. That side-road taught me so much about myself. It burned away a lot of the ideas rooted in traditional norms that didn’t appeal to me in the least.

Life comes at us really fast!

And just like that, 15 years had flown by and I was left wondering what to do next. A chance university course offering led me to the study of Anthropology, specifically Primatology. Spending time studying primates in Panama and Madagascar are some of my most treasured memories.

When you least expect it, life comes full circle

At the age of 54, fully in my menopausal era, life brought me back to the beginning and I became a film and television actor. Being in that world brought the recognition that as a “woman of a certain age” meant fighting even harder on behalf of older women. And that led me here. To being an advocate for perimenopausal and menopausal women. To guide and support them on their menopause journey and to, with love, encourage them to see this third act as the most freeing and joyous one yet!
